Many homeowners experience yard drainage or flooding problems.  Whether water is pooling in your yard after it rains, flowing to areas you don’t want it to, or is causing damage to structures and landscaping, we offer the solutions that can help.  Below is a list of the most common problems and how we can help to solve them for you.

Standing water in your yard

One of the first signs of a drainage problem is standing or pooling water in the yard.  When water isn’t being absorbed normally after a rain there could be several causes for this.  You may have low spots in your yard, the soil may be too compacted in spots, or you may even have natural underground springs collecting water.

We will note which areas are collecting the water and help to provide an outlet away from the area.  We will do this with a combination of several techniques including but not limited to…

  • re-grading the area

  • creating a swale

  • installing a French Drain

  • installing catch basins into an underground drain

  • funneling water away from house or landscaping with underground drains

  • installing pop-up emitters to exit the water in a safe area

Landscaping or patio flooding

Walkways, patios, and landscaped areas can collect water and flood when not properly graded. This problem is most common in solid surfaces like cement or paver pathways that don’t allow water to flow through them. In order to fix these issues, we can provide the following solutions…

  • install or replace existing surfaces with gravel or stepping-stones so that rainwater can easily pass through

  • installing catch basins into underground drain

  • funneling water away through an underground drain

Erosion

Not all yard drainage issues are created equal.  Erosion of your property can be a big problem too!  If runoff water is damaging your landscaping or yard we can help.  We will deploy the following solutions to help solve your erosion problems.

  • install hardscaping or gravel features to your yard

  • create a dry creek bed with gravel, large stones, and rocks.

  • regrade the property away from the affected area

  • install a French Drain to capture the water and funnel it away from the area
